đź’› March is Endometriosis Awareness Month
Raising Awareness. Supporting Strength. Empowering Women.
March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding of a condition that affects 1 in 10 women and people assigned female at birth worldwide — yet often goes undiagnosed for years.
At Brook Medical Centre, we believe in advocating for women’s health, listening to real experiences, and helping break the silence around chronic pain.
What Is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This can cause:
Severe menstrual cramps
Chronic pelvic pain
Pain during or after intercourse
Heavy periods
Fatigue
Digestive issues
Fertility challenges
Despite how common it is, the average diagnosis can take 7–10 years. Too often, symptoms are dismissed as “just bad periods.”
Pain that disrupts your life is not normal — and it deserves attention.
Why Awareness Matters
Endometriosis is more than a “period problem.” It can impact:
Mental health
Career and productivity
Relationships
Fertility
Overall quality of life
By talking openly about endometriosis, we help:
âś” Reduce stigma
âś” Encourage earlier diagnosis
âś” Promote better medical advocacy
âś” Support those living with chronic pain
How You Can Help
